My interest in photography was sparked by my Uncle Andy, who was a photojournalist during the Korean War. I loved all of his equipment and the associated gadgets, but what impressed me the most was how a photograph recorded a piece of history for all to see. While living in Wisconsin, I started shooting "covers" for small local magazines. When I moved back to Seattle, I was a stringer for several weekly publications and received two First Place Washington Press Awards for photojournalism. My experience as a photojournalist fine-tuned my skills to capture the priceless moments at weddings, baptisms, bar mitzvahs, and portraits. I'm also published in annual reports and commercial web sites.
I'm still amazed that an historical event or an image that inspires generation after generation, is captured in a fraction of a second. And with recent development in technology, the digital darkroom has opened new and exciting experiences least of which is creating color images.
